Following commercialization and introduction of privately run Internet service providers in the 1980s, and the Internet's expansion for popular use in the 1990s, the Internet has had a drastic impact on culture and commerce. This includes the rise of using web applications. As technologies and business requirements change, the system needs to update accordingly.
Minimizes maintaining and updating time of the system is crucial, as keeping it available is the key for the organization competitiveness or even survival.
The objective of this study is to design a flexible web application that is easy for maintaining and updating. sodi is a prototype of such system.
Building on JSP, Servlets and MySQL technologies, sodi focuses on achieving internal flexibility to allow the system to easily adapted and extended to supply new functionality without major redesign.
Followings are the requirements to execute sodi
· Software Requirement
- Database Server: MySQL 5.0.51 or later (or install WampServer 2.0 which include a package of MySQL 5.0.51)
- Application Server: Apache Tomcat 6.0 or higher
- Java SE Development Kit 6u1
- Web browser: Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher, Mozilla Firefox 3.5 or higher , Google Chrome , Opera and Safari 3 or higher
- Operating System supports software above.
· Hardware Requirement (Recommended)
- Processor: Pentium IV or higher
- RAM: 512 MB minimum
- Hard Disk Total Size: 40 GB minimum
